The Thailand immigration office and Thai authorities have been introducing new measures to ease the process of applying for Thailand tourist visa, business visa or other visa type.
In 2014 there was a change in the visa run policy where travelers who are wanted to reenter Thailand after their visa on arrival or visa free duration of stay has expired will be required to stay at least one day outside the country.

90 days Thailand visa exemption
The citizens of the following 5 countries are allowed to enter and stay in Thailand for a duration of up to 90 days.

- South Korea
- Peru
30 day thailand Visa Waiver
The foreign nationals holding valid passport of any of the following 6 countries are allowed to stay in Thailand for up to 30 days without a visa under the visa waiver program.
- Hong Kong
- Laos
- Macao
- Mongolia
- Russia
- Vietnam
30 days Thailand Visa Exemption
The travelers holding ordinary passport from any of the below countries are eligible to enter and stay in Thailand for 30 days without a visa. If entering by land or sea this Thai visa exemption is valid for two times per calendar year however, if entering by air there is no limitation. The countries are:

14 Days Travel Visa Exemption
Nationals of the below two countries can enter Thailand and maximum of 14 days without a travel visa.

Thailand Visa on arrival
Passport holders of the below countries can apply for Thailand visa on arrival at any of the designated 48 immigration checkpoints for a stay of up to 15 days. The Thailand visa on arrival may not be extended. The countries are:

Thailan evisa on arrival
Since 2018 Thai government has introduced evisa on arrival as a simplified visa process for citizens of countries that are eligible for Thailand visa on arrival.
Evisa application has also became available since 2019 in some Royal Thai embassy and consulate.
Thailand visa from embassy and consulate
Citizens of the below countries must apply for Thailand visa from the nearest Royal Thai embassy or consulate in their country of residence. They must prepare Thailand visa application form, Thailand visa requirement such as original passport and travel insurance and pay the Thailand visa fee. After waiting for the processing time the visa will be stamped on the passport.
